2024

Our weekly newsletter crossed hundreds of thousands of readers, and our comparison engine became the way people decide between tools.

The methodology behind every rating, review and recommendation on SmartVault.
Before a tool earns a rating, we sign up and run it through the workflows its users actually care about. We evaluate capability, ease of use, output quality, pricing fairness and support — then translate that into a 0–5 score and a balanced set of pros and cons. Ratings are editorial judgments, not vendor-supplied numbers.
SmartVault is reader-supported. Some outbound links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you sign up for a tool. This never influences our scores, our rankings or whether a tool is featured. We review tools that pay us nothing, and we routinely rate paid partners lower than free alternatives when they deserve it.
